Cheese and Wine Festival — Bohinjska Bistrica, Northern Slovenia

Bohinj is one of the gems of the Slovenian Alps, famous for its breathtaking scenery and beautiful lake. It has a long tradition of dairy farming and cheese-making. This cheese and wine festival is definitely worth attending to experience the regions local culinary offers.
Cheese, various dishes and wine will be available for tastings, and products from regular sales of cheeses and winemakers will also be offered. Caterers will provide specialties that contain cheese and other milk products.

- Specialities made from cheese
- vocal groups and folk dance groups from Bohinj
- Children workshops
The specialty among the cheeses of the Bohinj region is Mohant, a spicy, soft cheese (which you can use as a spread), with a very distinctive smell. I’ll leave it up to you to try and form your own judgement on this rather controversial cheese.
