Modra Frankinja (Blaufränkisch) Festival – Sevnica, Southeastern Slovenia
June 6, 2019 @ 5:00 pm - 10:00 pm

The Modra Frankinja (Blaufränkisch) Festival is dedicated to this exceptional, but sometimes overlooked, grape variety. Blaufränkisch is popular across wine regions in central Europe.
In Slovenia, it is most popular in the south and east. Interestingly, the German name of this variety, which is Lemberger, supposedly originates from the municipality Lemberg in Eastern Slovenia.
The event is held in the beautifully preserved medieval castle of Sevnica and includes wine tastings, culinary offers, a guided tour of the castle, and an interesting cultural programme, including a concert of Wine and Music, and music entertainment by Kranjci.
Entrance to the wine festival is free.
Deposit for a glass = 5 EUR (to be returned at the entrance to the castle park until 22.30).
Vouchers: 1 voucher = 1 EUR
Food vouchers: 1 voucher = 3 EUR
